DESCRIPTION
Botanical name: Cedrus Deodara. Origin: Himalayan Mountains, India. Extracting Method: Steam Distillation. Plant Part: Wood. Note: Base. Aromatic Profile: Warm, sweet, woody, and balsamic. Cedarwood essential oil has a warm, woody aroma that is grounding and calming — pencil shavings, dry timber, a little sweetness underneath. Distilled from Himalayan deodar wood, it has been burned and blended for centuries and remains one of the great base notes in perfumery, holding lighter oils in place and giving a composition its floor. It is often used in aromatherapy for a calm, settled atmosphere, and a few drops in a carrier oil bring a quiet, woody warmth to a massage. It is also a classic natural note for scenting linen drawers and wardrobes.
